PCOS
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), also known as Stein-Leventhal Syndrome is one of the most common hormonal endocrine disorders in women. Since PCOS cannot be quickly diagnosed and because symptoms vary, PCOS has been known as the “Silent Killer." If undetected, PCOS can increase risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. This animation demonstrates the onset of the disorder and how the reproductive system is affected in the process.
